The winners of the Crestron UK Integration Awards 2009 were announced last night at a summer gala and showcase event held at Crestron’s impressive Surrey headquarters. Now in their second successful year, the Crestron UK Integration Awards celebrate the achievements of those integrators who have embraced Crestron’s Total Technology and all its possibilities, to create some of today’s most spectacular and innovative system designs.
Over 60 entries were received from Crestron’s UK-based dealers, featuring projects from all over the EMEA region. And, for the first time this year, projects from the commercial arena competed to win a coveted prize alongside the best that the residential world has to offer.
Smartcomm's commercial entry for InterContinental Hotel Group's new Global Headqauters in Denham won the "Best Corporate Installation" category for their innovative use of Crestron technology.
IHG relocated its global HG from Windsor to a new site located in 13 acres of landscaped grounds with open-plan office space set in a four-story building. Covering 100,000 square feet, the new HQ features work zones, a 20-room meeting suite, a state-of-the-art gym and dance studio, contemporary style coffee bar and facilities – all of which required the latest AV equipment.
Smartcomm's winning design was built around the Crestron AV2 and MP2E control systems. Each AV and environmental element is controlable and accessable through the control system. The Crestron MP2E fuses high-performance AV signal distribution, device control, and facility-wide system management throughout the building. It combines an Ethernet control system and audio/video switcher in a single box to provide a cost-effective total room control solution. The MP2E is used to select and control each room's AV and resources including VCR's, DVD/CD players, projectors, screens, lighting and more.
Smartcomm's solution also delivers monitoring and management via Roomview, digital signage, video conferencing and audio teleconferencing with control via a variety of handheld wireless and wall mounted Crestron touchpanels.
