For a second consecutive year, Smartcomm is the winner of a prestigious CEDIA Award - this time having triumphed in a category that received more entries then any other - 'Best Integrated Home Under £100K' at the CEDIA Awards 2008.
Smartcomm's winning entry, The Darlands, is a luxurious contemporary designed family home situated in acres of idyllic gardens in Greater London. The stunning property, originally built in the 1930's now boasts a modern comtemporary interior with a fully automated AV System featuring Crestron Control.
Smartcomm designed a system that would compliment the family's lifestyle, be fun, easy to use and would blend discretly with the rest of the interior. With it's Home Cinema System featuring a 60" HD plasma, multi-room audio, Lutron Homeworks Lighting System (108 lighting circuits), Siedle video & audio gate entry system, CCTV with wireless transmission and distributed TV, SKY, DVD & audio server, The Darlands is a worthy winner.
The CEDIA Awards which recognise and reward excellence in the residential custom installation industry were held on 9th May 2008 at Vinopolis in London, which is located in the heart of Bankside. Consisting of 21 Victorian arches and 7 stunning event spaces, Vinopolis was a befitting venue and to make the event even more special the awards were presented by Suzi Perry of FIVE's 'The Gadget Show'.
Finalists for each of the 12 categories were intensely scrutinised by a panel of leading industry judges and winners were decided based on a range of factors, including: the quality of the design and the installation, technical and design innovation, lifestyle improvements, overcoming of financial and physical obstacles, customer feedback, project objectives and results.
